About us
I have been fortunate to have traveled
throughout my life. Starting with sports in high school, to my
current international travel for work, I've put in a lot of miles riding in
planes, trains, buses and automobiles. In the time that I was
traveling, I never thought much about what I was wearing. I knew I
wanted to be comfortable, but not much beyond that. A few years ago,
I was in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico staying with a friend that was
there for surgery. I had a lot time to get out and about and see the
sights. Guadalajara is a fabulous city, there are many things to do.
The city is very cultured with great restaurants, music, beautiful
architecture and gardens everywhere. Guadalajara is a beautiful city
in many ways. One thing that really stood out to me on that trip was
how nice everyone was groomed and dressed, from the rushing business man to the young
baristas riding their bikes to work. One beautiful day, I took a trip
the Zoo. Lunch time was approaching and I was at the far end of the
zoo at the Mirador, or lookout. There is a
small snack bar with an amazing view of the mountains and valleys with a covered, family style sitting area set up with
long picnic tables. I ordered something to eat and sat down. Soon
after I settled in, a young family of four sat next to me. They were
all dressed very sharply. I commented to the mother of the family
about how nice they all looked and the woman replied, “Here in
Jalisco, we feel that if whatever you are doing is worth leaving the
house for, then it's worth looking good for.” For whatever reason,
that comment really stuck with me. I had never thought about going
out and traveling in that way. I realized that I was disrespecting
myself and all of the time and effort that it took me to make those
trips happen by not looking and feeling good while I was traveling. I
began paying more attention to how I looked, felt and presented
myself. To the clothes and shoes I was wearing. To my travel bags and
accessories. To how these items functioned while navigating airports,
taxis, hotels, apartments, deserts, mountains and beaches. I began
seeking out stylish but comfortable clothing and functional
accessories and always seemed to pick out the styles and materials
of Mexico. The style is a bit urban with lots of leather and a huge
influence of the ranch, farm and of old Mexico. I began to seek out
places where the clothing and accessories that I liked were
fabricated. Places like Leon in Guanajuato, Taxco in Guerrero, and of
course Mexico City, I began to learn about the manufacturers, the
workers, the products, their construction and the materials they are
made with. I have met many great people and learned so much from
them. I am hooked!! So began this little company. I seek out stylish,
functional and well built clothing, shoes, boots, and accessories
that are made in Mexico by dedicated and talented workers. I sell
some high end stuff, but also some affordable and functional items. I
still travel to and from Mexico every two weeks and I put these
products that I sell to the test. I check the durability,
construction, materials, function, ease of use, size, and style, I've
even custom designed some of the products, working with the master
manufacturers, to come up with products that are great for travel and
lifestyle. Please feel free to browse through the products and
collections. Send me a message if you have any questions about our
products, our business or Mexico in general! I will be happy to tell
you all about what we do!
